Just don’t focus on the home page, keywords and titles.
The first step to sales when consumers visit your site to see the products they were looking for. Of course, search engine optimization and better rankings can’t keep your customer on your site or make them purchase. The customer having visited your site, now ensure that he gets interested in your products or services and stays around. Motivate him to purchase the product by providing clear and unambiguous information. Thus if you happen to sell more than one product or service, provide all required information about this, may be by keeping the information at a different page. By providing suitable and easily detectable links, the customer can navigate to these pages and get the details.
Understanding Your Target Customer
If you design a website you think will attract patrons, but you don’t really know who your customers are and what they require to purchase, it is unlikely you make much money. Website business is an extension or replacement for a standard storefront. You can send email to your existing patrons and ask them to complete a sounding or even while they are browsing on your website. Ask them about their choices. Why do they like your products? Do you discount prices or offer coupons? Are your prices usually lower than others? Is your shipping price cheaper? Do you respond faster to client questions? Are your product descriptions [better]? Your return policies and guarantees better than your competitor’s? To know your customer you can check credit card records or ask your customer to complete a simple contact form with name, address, age, gender, etc. when they purchase a product.
Does your website give enough contact information?
When you sell from a website, your customer can buy your products 24 hrs a day and also your customers may be from other states that are thousands of miles away. Always provide contact information, preferably on every page of your website, conclude with mailing address, telephone number and an email address that reaches you. People may need to contact you about sales, general information or technical problems on your site. Also have your email forwarded to another email address if you don’t check your website mailbox repeatedly. When customer wants to purchase online provide enough options like credit card, PayPal or other online payment service.

Internet marketers, I need a couple of minutes of your time. Please help me out.
I need to share some things.
A couple of years ago I started working on building websites to make money. After a while, I learnt that I was doing something called internet marketing
Like me you learnt some other stuff. You found that you need traffic to your websites and you need to change visitors from interested readers to action takers.
It isn’t easy
We are building sites.
We are adding advertising.
We are researching affiliate products.
We are getting all this stuff right… Yes?
OK, so why aren’t we feeling like we’re getting richer?
I looked around for solutions. As we both know there are plenty of folks happy to sell a ’secret’ - yup, the same secrets that will be shared only with me and a million other folks. All sorts of traffic schemes - bars on screens, traffic exchanges, widgets and a pile of other toys and tricks.
None of them will change your business because they don’t hit the right buttons. They fiddle with the margins but don’t address the basic issues.
The truth is that, in reality, getting traffic generation right IS easy!
We need backlinks and traffic. Just like always!
If enough people know where to find our pages and we tell the folks what we offer we will get the backlinks and traffic that lead to free traffic building.
BUT I found that the crazy money suckers and time eating toys were not the way to succeed. All that I really needed was a way to build backlinks and traffic in ‘normal’ ways.
I threw out the preposterous toys and went back to the fundamentals and this is what I did:
I was commenting on blogs.
I used social bookmarking
I took part in social networking communities
I was posting articles on article directories
I was exchanging articles with other site owners
and guess what happened…?
IT WORKED!
More Traffic and More Profit!
Nothing is perfect though.
I was spending a lot of time on marketing my sites. Webmasters were recurringly suspicious of my attempts to exchange content - their fingers burned too many times by shady characters.
It took AGES to find good partners for link exchanges and the blog commenting was still a useful technique but too many spam artists and ‘no follow’ links reduced its effectiveness and sucked away at my time.
Then, back in January some pieces came together. A new membership site opened up to only a few members. The new site was from the guys behind PortalFeeder - guys whose names I already knew: Jason Potash, Jason Katzenback and Marc Quarles. Each name was a trusted man behind a range of quality products and each was standing behind this new concept, a service that rocked my world.
What were the guys doing? What was their shtick?
Actually the offer was not so new - and yet it was unique and brand new at the same time.
They used the basic ingredients of success - yes, you guessed: backlinks and traffic.
Taking the fundamental techniques of content exchanges, link exchanges, social methods (Web 2.0) and article submissions and remade them so that we could do the jobs we needed and at a speed that made the process realistic all over again.
The Traffic Kahuna guys have several components to share with you and even though I use these tools they can tell you about them greater than I can.
Please, click on THIS LINK and ask for more information. They won’t bury you with irrelevant emails. They will share with you some of the tools that we use in Traffic Kahuna and demonstrate how they help us.
More importantly, when the doors to Traffic Kahuna reopen with more membership seats you will know as [soon] as it happens and be ready to make a choice - the same decision I made, to go back to basics and do it right, or to continue messing around with the latest bright ideas from some Johnny-Come-Lately.
There is no commitment, except to your own curiosity and need to succeed.
Oh, there is one thing to think about.
How you reached this page…
You are here because the techniques used in Traffic Kahuna work!
ALL the promotion used to get you here is from Traffic Kahuna - Think about it!
Visit Traffic Kahuna and request more information.
I look forward to working with you in TK!
Andrew Wilson.

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
Many people said that getting your new website to show up on Google takes a month or more. Not again. Using Google’s very own new technology, you can do it in about 3 days or less.
Steps
- Make sure that your website is ready (i.e. no broken links, has enough unique contents, etc). Optimize your website for keywords that are highly related with your website content.
- Create a sitemap file for your website. Sitemap file is a formatted file with an XML extension. It contains the URLs for all of your pages in your website. You can use free online or offline tools available to generate your sitemap file.
- Upload the sitemap file to your website root directory.
- Go to Google Sitemaps website and log in using your Google account. Create if you don’t have one. It is free.
- Type your website full URL in the “Add Site” field on the top of the Google Sitemap page and click OK.
- Click the “Add Sitemap” link on the right of your website name.
- Choose “General Web Sitemap ” on the “Choose Type” option list. Check all the checkboxes provided.
- Type your full sitemap URL in the provided field and click “Add Web Sitemap” button.
- Wait for about 2 or 3 days. Check Google by typing your website name in the search box. If it shows up in the result, it means that Google has indexed your website.
Tips
- Always use specific keywords and not a broad one (such as “fashion”, “internet”,”sports”, etc) in optimizing your website.
- Generate and resubmit your sitemap file everytime you make changes to your website. By resubmitting, you can always tell Google about your changes. Consult the Google Sitemaps help for more information of how to do this.
- Google Sitemaps provides a number of statistics about your website. You can use it to know how Google and people find your site. It is very useful to help you improve your website content. Consult the Google Sitemaps help for more information about this.
- After getting indexed by Google, increase the number of websites that link to your website and create more unique content to improve your website rankings.
- Make sure this is at the top of your coding on each page
Warnings
- This method is only used to tell Google that your website exists and not to gain top rankings. To get a top rankings, especially on Google, a considerable amount of effort is indeed required.
- Google Sitemaps technology is still in development stage. So, expect errors to happen or expect that your website not getting indexed in 3 days. However, I haven’t had any difficulties using them. My new sites always getting indexed by Google in less than 3 days.
Things You’ll Need
- A Google Account.
- A sitemap generator.
- A sitemap file
